SIM Lab
Our residents regularly simulate a wide diversity of pathologies in the controlled environment of our SIM lab before managing these critical cases in there real world. SIM lab gives our residents the space to refine their critical care knowledge and skills without the fear of making mistakes. Our residents rotate through the various healthcare provider roles in our simulations from being a team leader to managing CPR. Seeing critical cases through the eyes of every team member involved in a patients care helps our residents see the "Big Picture" and effectively communicate with their team when they transition to the Team Leader in the ER.
Research
At our program, we emphasize the importance of research as a cornerstone of advancing emergency medicine. All residents are required to complete at least one research project during their training, though many go beyond this minimum as they cultivate specific interests within the field. Our curriculum includes regular research-focused lectures that sharpen critical thinking skills and provide residents with the technical and biostatistical tools necessary to evaluate medical literature effectively. This foundation empowers our graduates to not only contribute to the evolution of clinical practice but to do so with the analytical rigor needed to ensure research findings are relevant and applicable to the diverse patient populations they serve.
Our residents are encouraged to present their research at local and national EM conferences. You'll get an opportunity to be exposed to cutting edge research and network with other members in the EM community.
