Beyond the Shift

Residency is intense — but when you're off shift, Long Island gives you room to breathe. From the sandy shores of Fire Island to the vineyards of the North Fork, there's no shortage of ways to unwind. Craving nature? Hike through the Pine Barrens, kayak the Nissequogue River, or catch a sunset at Montauk Point. Want city energy? Manhattan is just a train ride away, but you’ll find live music, food festivals, and local breweries right here in our backyard.

Long Island serves up diversity in every sense — culture, cuisine, and communities. You’ll find everything from authentic Korean BBQ in Flushing to fresh-off-the-boat seafood in Port Jefferson. Whether you're decompressing at a beach bonfire, hitting a yoga class in Huntington, sinking birdie putts on the links in Bethpage or exploring historic Gold Coast mansions, there’s something here to make your off days count.

Residency is a grind, but Long Island makes it feel less like surviving — and more like living.
